2 1/4 cups (280 g) all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup (150 g) brown sugar
1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups (260 g) chocolate chips
1/2 cup (80 g) white chocolate chips (optional)
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Instructions
Whisk flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl. In a separate mixing bowl, cream softened butter with brown and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
Add dry ingredients to the butter mixture and stir until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips and white chocolate chips if using.
Scoop 2-tablespoon dough balls onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Chill for 30–45 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place dough balls 2 inches apart on a baking tray. Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain soft. Cool on tray 5 minutes, then transfer to rack.
