  • 0.5 oz Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
  • 0.5 oz Champagne Vinegar (or rice vinegar)
  • 0.5 oz Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 sprig Rosemary (for garnish, or thyme/sage)
  • Soda Water (to top)
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Brown Butter Washed Rye: Melt butter gently over low heat until golden brown. Let it cool, then whisk with rye whiskey and freeze overnight.
  2. Make the Sweetpotato Shrub: Heat water and brown butter together in a saucepan. Add diced sweetpotato and rosemary, simmer until bubbling. Stir in vinegars and simmer again until reduced. Discard solids and let cool.
  3. Shake Cocktail Ingredients: Combine the brown butter washed rye, sweetpotato shrub, lemon juice, and ice in a shaker. Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until well chilled.
  4. Serve: Strain the cocktail into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice. Top with soda water and garnish with a rosemary sprig.
  5. Optional: Rim the glass with cinnamon sugar before serving for a festive touch.
