Shabu-Shabu Hot Pot is a comforting, interactive meal perfect for sharing vibrant flavors and warmth.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups Dashi broth or water
  • 1 pound Thinly sliced beef (ribeye or sirloin)
  • 1 head Napa cabbage
  • 8 ounces Shiitake mushrooms
  • 2 medium Carrots
  • 4 stalks Green onions
  • 14 ounces Cubed tofu
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 1 cup Optional dipping sauces (ponzu, sesame sauce)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, bring the dashi broth or water to a vigorous boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Gently add the thinly sliced beef into the boiling broth. Cook for about 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Stir in the chopped napa cabbage, sliced shiitake mushrooms, and julienned carrots. Simmer for another 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the cubed tofu to the pot and let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  5. Drizzle in the soy sauce and sesame oil, gently stirring to incorporate the flavors.
  6. Sprinkle the chopped green onions over the hot pot and serve.
