Gourmet BLT Wraps with Secret Sauce

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 slices Thick-Cut Smoked Beef Bacon
  • 6 Large Flour Tortillas (Burrito Size, 1012 inches)
  • 1 Large Head Crisp Iceberg Lettuce (or Romaine), thinly sliced or chopped
  • 23 Ripe Roma Tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 Large Ripe Avocado, sliced (Optional)
  • ½ cup Mayonnaise (full-fat)
  • 2 tablespoons Ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce (alcohol-free alternative)
  • 2 tablespoons Red Wine Vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Onion Powder
  • Pinch of Cayenne Pepper (Optional)
  • Salt and Freshly Ground Black Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce (alcohol-free alternative), red wine vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper (if using) in a bowl. Whisk until completely smooth. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste, adjusting flavors as needed. Cover and chill for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  2. Choose your method: Pan-Frying: Place beef bacon in a cold skillet over medium-low heat, cook for 8-12 minutes, flipping every few minutes, until desired crispiness. Oven Baking (Recommended): Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange beef bacon on a wire rack on a foil-lined baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and crisp. Drain cooked beef bacon on paper towels. Crumble or chop into bite-sized pieces.
  3. Wash and thoroughly dry lettuce; thinly slice or chop. Wash and slice ripe Roma tomatoes into ¼-inch thick rounds; blot gently with paper towel if very juicy. If using avocado, slice into thin strips; brush with a tiny bit of lemon or lime juice to prevent browning if not assembling immediately.
  4. Warm tortillas (optional: 15-20 seconds per side in a dry skillet or 10-15 seconds in microwave for pliability). Lay one warm tortilla flat. Spread 1-2 tablespoons of the chilled secret sauce evenly over the entire surface, leaving a 1-inch border. Layer with a generous handful of prepared lettuce, 3-4 slices of tomato, a generous amount of crumbled beef bacon, and avocado slices (if using), concentrating filling slightly below the center. Fold in the sides of the tortilla over the filling. Starting from the bottom edge, tightly fold the tortilla up and over the filling, continuing to roll upwards, keeping it snug and compact. Serve whole or slice each wrap in half diagonally using a sharp knife, and enjoy immediately.
