This Roasted Orange Chicken is juicy, bright, crispy, and bursting with citrus flavor.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken thighs or drumsticks (or 2 chicken breasts)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 large orange, zested and juiced
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Optional Toppings: Fresh parsley, orange slices, sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 400°F (204°C) for crispy skin.
  2. Whisk orange juice, zest, honey, olive oil, garlic, paprika, Italian seasoning, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pat dry and rub lightly with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Place in a baking dish and pour marinade over, turning to coat.
  5. Bake for 35–45 minutes until golden and cooked to 165°F (74°C).
  6. Broil 2–3 minutes to caramelize the skin.
  7. Let rest 5 minutes. Garnish with parsley or orange slices.
