Ingredients
Scale
8 ounces beef tenderloin steaks
3 tablespoons butter (divided)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup Merlot
2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
1/8 teaspoon salt
Instructions
In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter along with the olive oil. Wait until the butter is bubbling and fragrant before moving on.
Add those beautiful beef tenderloin steaks into the skillet! Cook them for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness—golden brown on the outside.
Carefully remove the cooked steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a plate for at least 5 minutes. This helps keep all those juices locked in!
In the same skillet, pour in the Merlot wine. Use a wooden spoon to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom. Let it simmer for about 3-4 minutes until it reduces slightly and the flavors meld together beautifully.
Stir in the heavy whipping cream and the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the 1/8 teaspoon of salt and mix well until the sauce is creamy and smooth.
Finally, place those delicious steaks on a plate and drizzle with the rich Merlot sauce.
