Ingredients
Scale
1 round Brie cheese (about 8 ounces)
1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
1/2 cup maple syrup
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
1 egg (for egg wash)
Optional: chopped nuts (e.g., pecans or walnuts) for topping
Optional: crackers or sliced baguette for serving
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine cranberries, maple syrup, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Stir gently and cook until the cranberries begin to burst, about 5-7 minutes.
While the cranberry mixture cooks, place the Brie on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Place the Brie in the center of the pastry. Fold the pastry over the cheese, trimming any excess if necessary. Ensure the Brie is fully encased.
Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush the pastry with the egg wash for a golden finish.
Place the wrapped Brie in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
Remove the Brie from the oven and let it cool for about 5 minutes. Carefully open the pastry, and spoon the warm cranberry mixture over the top.
Optional: Sprinkle chopped nuts over the cranberry topping for added texture. Serve with crackers or sliced baguette.
Notes
Allow the baked Brie to cool slightly before serving to avoid burns.
Experiment with different nuts for varied flavors.
