- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water (for slurry)
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 cups cooked white rice
- 2 cups broccoli florets, steamed
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- Chopped parsley or green onion for garnish
- Peel and devein shrimp if needed. Mince garlic, steam broccoli, and cook rice.
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
- In another bowl, mix cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of water to make a slurry.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook 1–2 minutes per side until opaque. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds. Add the sauce mixture and bring to a simmer.
- Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for 1–2 minutes until thick and glossy.
- Return shrimp to the pan and coat with the glaze. Cook together for 1 more minute.
- Assemble bowls with rice, glazed shrimp, and broccoli. Garnish with sesame seeds and fresh herbs.
