Irresistible Heart Jam Cookies for Every Sweet Occasion

  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup raspberry jam (or favorite fruit jam)
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg yolk and vanilla; mix well.
  2. Gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Divide dough in half, flatten into discs, wrap, and chill for at least 1 hour.
  4. Roll dough to 1/8–1/4 inch thickness. Cut heart shapes. Cut small hearts from half of the cookies.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Cool completely.
  6. Dust cutout cookies with powdered sugar. Spread about 1 teaspoon jam on solid cookies and sandwich together.
  7. Let cookies rest 30 minutes before serving.
