Gordon Ramsay’s Chili Con Carne is a hearty and flavorful dish that combines ground beef and pork with vegetables and spices.

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 oz) red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish
  • Sour cream and shredded cheese, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced onion, garlic, and bell peppers. Sauté until soft, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the ground beef and ground pork to the pot. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  4. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, and oregano. Cook for 2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Add the diced tomatoes (with juices) and stir well.
  6. Add the red kidney beans and black beans into the pot.
  7. Add the beef broth and season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir to combine.
  8. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  9. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or spices as desired.
  10. Once the chili has thickened to your liking, remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
