Ghostly Ganache Brownies offer a rich chocolate experience with a spooky Halloween twist, perfect for parties. These brownies are moist, fudgy, and topped with a silky ganache, easily made by novice bakers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 8 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • Ghost-shaped chocolate decorations (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat. Stir in the granulated sugar.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the brownies cool in the dish for 20 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until it just simmers. Pour it over the chopped chocolate and let sit for a few minutes.
  10. Stir the chocolate and cream mixture until smooth and well combined. Let the ganache cool slightly.
  11. Once the brownies are completely cool, pour the ganache over the top and spread evenly.
  12. Decorate with ghost-shaped chocolate decorations if desired.
  13. Slice the brownies into squares and serve.

Notes

  • Use high-quality chocolate and cocoa powder for the best flavor.
  • Avoid overmixing the batter to ensure moist brownies.
  • Cool the brownies completely before adding the ganache for best results.
  • Experiment with flavor extracts like peppermint or almond for variations.
