Ingredients
Scale
2 cups all-purpose flour or gluten-free blend
1 cup plant-based butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar (cane or coconut)
8 oz dark chocolate (high-quality and dairy-free)
2 tsp ginger (ground)
1 tsp cinnamon (ground)
1/2 tsp nutmeg (ground)
1/2 cup maple syrup or agave syrup
1 cup non-dairy milk (almond or oat milk)
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of softened plant-based butter, and 1/2 cup of sugar. Mix until crumbly, then press the mixture into a tart pan. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Using a double boiler or microwave, gently melt 8 oz of high-quality dark chocolate until smooth. Allow it to cool slightly.
In a bowl, whisk the melted chocolate with 2 tsp of ground ginger, 1 tsp of ground cinnamon, 1/2 tsp of ground nutmeg, 1/2 cup of maple syrup, and 1 cup of non-dairy milk until fully combined and smooth.
Carefully pour the chocolate mixture into the chilled tart shell, smoothing the surface evenly.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the tart for 25-30 minutes until the edges are set but the center still has a slight jiggle.
Allow the tart to cool completely on a wire rack. Once cooled, garnish as desired and slice to serve.
Notes
Use gluten-free blend for a gluten-free option.
Choose chocolate with at least 70% cocoa for best results.
