  • 700 grams squid tubes
  • ¼ cup plain flour
  • ¼ cup corn flour
  • 11 ½ teaspoons fine salt
  • 1 ½ teaspoons freshly cracked black pepper
  • 12 litres vegetable oil
  • lemon wedges
  • garlic aioli

Instructions

  1. Preheat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large pot over medium-high heat to about 350°F.
  2. Mix the plain flour, corn flour, fine salt, and freshly cracked black pepper in a bowl.
  3. Dredge the thawed squid tubes in the flour mixture, ensuring each piece is coated evenly.
  4. Fry the coated squid carefully in the hot oil for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Drain the squid on paper towels immediately after frying to remove excess oil.
  6. Serve hot with lemon wedges and a side of creamy garlic aioli. Squeeze some lemon for extra zing!
