These Crispy Fried Mushrooms are golden, crunchy, and perfectly seasoned — the ultimate snack or appetizer for any occasion. Fresh mushrooms are breaded, fried to perfection, and served hot with your favorite dipping sauce for a bite that’s both crispy and juicy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh whole mushrooms (white button or cremini)
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup milk (whole or 2%)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Ranch dressing
  • Spicy mayo
  • Creamy garlic sauce

Instructions

  1. Wipe mushrooms clean with a damp paper towel and pat dry. Trim stems if needed.
  2. Mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in one bowl. In another, whisk egg and milk. Place breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
  3. In a skillet or fryer, heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Test with a breadcrumb — it should sizzle immediately.
  4. Dip each mushroom in the flour mixture, then egg mixture, then breadcrumbs, pressing gently to coat.
  5. Fry in batches for 3–4 minutes, turning occasionally, until crisp and golden brown. Avoid overcrowding.
  6. Transfer to a paper towel or wire rack to drain. Serve hot with your favorite dip.
