Cranberry Cream Cheese Crescent Bites are a delicious treat that combines cranberries and cream cheese in a flaky pastry. Perfect for gatherings or a quiet morning at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 package (8 oz) full-fat cream cheese, completely softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon fresh orange zest, finely grated
  • 1/2 cup canned whole berry cranberry sauce (not jellied)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • For the Glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (confectioners’ sugar)
  • 23 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
  2. In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and orange zest until smooth and creamy.
  3. Open the canned cranberry sauce and lightly mash berries if large. Fold in chopped nuts if using.
  4. Unroll crescent roll dough onto a floured surface. Pinch together perforations to form large rectangles.
  5. Spread half of the cream cheese mixture over one dough rectangle, leaving a border. Spoon half of the cranberry sauce on top.
  6. Cut the filled dough rectangle into 8 smaller rectangles. Roll each rectangle from one end to the other into a spiral.
  7. Pinch the seam at the bottom of each roll to seal. Place seam-side down on baking sheets, spacing them apart.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown and filling is puffed. Rotate trays halfway for even baking.
  9. Let the bites cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. In a small bowl, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Adjust consistency as needed.
  11. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bites. Let it set for 5-10 minutes before serving.
  12. Serve fresh. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for 1 day or in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.

Notes

  • For best results, serve bites fresh.
  • Warm refrigerated bites in a microwave or low oven before serving.
