This Cinnamon Roll Biscuit Bake is a delightful twist on traditional cinnamon rolls, using flaky layered biscuits for a quick and easy dessert or breakfast treat. Layered with a buttery cinnamon-sugar mixture, baked to golden perfection, and drizzled with a sweet vanilla glaze, this recipe offers all the flavors of a classic cinnamon roll with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tube Grand’s Butter Tastin’ Flaky Layers (8 count biscuits)
  • ½ cup salted butter (room temperature)
  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salted butter (softened/melted)
  • 12 tablespoons heavy cream
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350ºF. Lightly spray an 8×8-inch square baking pan with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Open the tube of biscuits and carefully split each biscuit in half horizontally, making two thinner layers from each one due to their flaky texture.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, light brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract until well mixed into a smooth cinnamon butter spread.
  4. Spread the cinnamon butter evenly over each biscuit half. Arrange half of the biscuit pieces with cinnamon butter in the bottom of the baking pan, then layer the remaining half on top, creating two layers.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the biscuit bake is golden brown and cooked through. You can test by pulling up a biscuit in the center to check that it is no longer doughy. Cover with aluminum foil if the top browns too quickly.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, melted butter, 1 tablespoon heavy cream, and vanilla extract. Add up to an additional tablespoon of heavy cream if the glaze is too thick, until you reach a smooth, drizzle-able consistency.
  7. Drizzle the prepared glaze generously over the warm biscuit bake. Serve immediately for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use unsalted butter in the glaze.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
  • Reheat in the microwave for a few seconds before serving.
