Ingredients
Scale
1 lb (450g) sausage meat (or your choice of ground meat)
1 tablespoon fresh sage, chopped (or dried sage)
1 teaspoon ground mustard powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon olive oil (for sautéing, optional)
1 sheet puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)
1 egg (for egg wash)
1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for topping)
Instructions
Combine the sausage meat, sage, mustard powder, garlic powder, pepper, salt, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl. Mix well.
Roll the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle.
Place the sausage mixture along one edge of the pastry. Roll the pastry around the sausage, sealing the edges tightly. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
Slice the rolled pastry into smaller pieces and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Let the sausage rolls cool for a few minutes before serving with cranberry sauce or mustard.
