Creamy Chicken Normandy is a cozy French-inspired skillet dinner made with tender chicken, apples, onions, non-alcoholic apple cider, and a velvety cream sauce.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts or thighs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 2 apples, sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup diced smoked turkey
  • 1 cup non-alcoholic apple cider or apple juice
  • ¾ cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • Fresh parsley (optional)
  • Extra apple slices (optional)
  • Cracked black pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season chicken with salt, pepper, and paprika. Heat olive oil and sear the chicken for 4–5 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  2. Melt butter in the same skillet. Add onions and smoked turkey; cook until onions soften.
  3. Add apples and garlic; cook for 3 minutes.
  4. Pour in non-alcoholic cider and chicken broth. Scrape the pan and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Add heavy cream and Dijon mustard; stir until smooth.
  6. Return chicken to the pan, spoon sauce over it, and simmer for 15–20 minutes.
  7. Garnish with parsley and serve warm.
