Ingredients
Scale
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
½ cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cardamom
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
2–3 tablespoons fresh orange juice

Instructions
Cream softened butter and powdered sugar until light and smooth. Mix in vanilla. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, cardamom, and salt, then add to the butter mixture and mix just until a dough forms.
Shape dough into a disc, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Roll dough to ¼-inch thickness or slice if using a log. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Bake for 12–15 minutes until edges are lightly golden and tops remain pale. Cool completely.
Whisk powdered sugar, orange juice, and orange zest until smooth, adjusting consistency as needed.
Drizzle or spread glaze over cooled cookies and let set for 15–20 minutes before serving.
