Mouthwatering Bread Bowls Perfect for Your Favorite Soup

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups Bread flour
  • 1 tbsp Granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp Kosher salt
  • 2 tsps Active instant yeast
  • 1.5 cups Warm water

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the bread flour, granulated sugar, and kosher salt. Gradually pour in the warm water, mixing with a wooden spoon until combined.
  2. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and set it in a warm location. Allow the dough to rise for about 2 ½ hours, or until nearly doubled.
  3. Gently scrape the dough onto a floured surface. Stretch and fold it over itself several times.
  4. Divide the dough into three equal pieces. Shape each into a ball and place them on a parchment-lined surface. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat your oven to 450°F and place a large cookie sheet inside to heat up.
  6. Carefully remove the hot cookie sheet from the oven, placing the parchment paper with the dough balls on it. Score an ‘X’ on each dough ball.
  7. Bake the bread bowls for 25 minutes, until golden brown. Let them cool completely on a wire rack.
  8. Once cooled, use a knife to cut a circle around the top of each bread bowl and scoop out some insides.
