Ingredients
Scale
2 large croissants
4 oz goat cheese, softened
1 large apple (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), thinly sliced
2 tablespoons honey (optional)
Fresh arugula or spinach (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Olive oil or butter (for toasting, optional)
Instructions
Slice the croissants in half horizontally.
Spread softened goat cheese on the cut side of both croissant halves.
Layer thin slices of apple evenly over the goat cheese on one half of each croissant.
Sprinkle a pinch of salt and pepper over the apple slices for added flavor.
Drizzle honey over the apple slices if you prefer a sweeter taste.
If desired, top with fresh arugula or spinach for a touch of color and health benefits.
Place the other half of the croissant on top to form a sandwich.
If you prefer a warm sandwich, heat a skillet over medium heat and add a little olive oil or butter. Place the sandwich in the skillet and toast for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and heated through.
Once toasted, remove from the skillet and let it cool slightly before serving.
