Craving that crispy, spicy flavor without the deep fryer mess? These Air Fryer Spicy Dry Rub Wings are your go-to solution. Perfectly seasoned with a bold mix of paprika, garlic, cayenne, and a hint of brown sugar.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken wings, separated into flats and drumettes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat chicken wings dry thoroughly with paper towels and place in a bowl.
  2. Add olive oil to wings and toss until fully coated.
  3. In a small bowl, mix smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, chili powder, cayenne, salt, pepper, brown sugar, and optional red pepper flakes.
  4. Sprinkle spice mixture over wings and toss until evenly coated.
  5. Let wings rest for 10–15 minutes so flavors absorb.
  6. Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  7. Arrange wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overlap.
  8. Air fry at 400°F for 22–25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  9. Check internal temperature (165°F) and look for crisp golden edges.
  10. Remove and rest wings for a few minutes before serving with your favorite dip.
