A delightful symphony of textures and flavors, Whipped Ricotta Honey Toast offers a remarkable balance between creamy whipped ricotta, golden honey, and perfectly toasted bread, perfect for breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (8 oz) Full-Fat Ricotta Cheese
  • 2 tbsp Honey (for ricotta)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • Pinch of Sea Salt (for ricotta)
  • 4 slices Bread
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil or Butter (for toasting)
  • Extra Honey (optional, for drizzle)
  • Flaky Sea Salt (optional, for garnish)
  • Fresh Fruit (optional, for garnish)
  • Chopped Nuts (optional, for garnish)
  • Cinnamon or Nutmeg (optional, for garnish)
  • Lemon Zest (optional, for garnish)
  • Fresh Herbs (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Whipped Ricotta: Place ricotta, 2 tbsp honey, vanilla extract, and pinch of sea salt in a medium mixing bowl. Using an electric mixer, whip on low speed, then increase to medium-high. Whip for 3-5 minutes until light, smooth, and fluffy, scraping down sides as needed. Taste and adjust seasoning if desired. Set aside.
  2. Toast the Bread: Choose your preferred method: Toast bread slices to golden brown in a toaster or toaster oven. Alternatively, for a skillet method, heat 2 tbsp olive oil or butter in a large pan over medium heat. Toast bread for 2-3 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Transfer toasted bread to a wire rack to prevent sogginess.
  3. Assemble the Toast: Generously spread a thick layer of whipped ricotta over each toasted bread slice. Drizzle with extra honey and sprinkle with flaky sea salt, if desired. Add any optional garnishes such as fresh fruit, chopped nuts, cinnamon/nutmeg, lemon zest, or fresh herbs.
  4. Serve: Serve immediately while the toast is warm and crispy. Enjoy!
