Ingredients
Scale
1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 large egg, beaten
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup sesame seeds, toasted
Green onions, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
In a bowl, combine chicken pieces, flour, cornstarch, salt, and pepper.
Add the beaten egg and mix until the chicken is evenly coated.
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Add the coated chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, combine honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic.
Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, until slightly thickened.
Return the cooked chicken to the skillet.
Toss the chicken in the honey sesame sauce until well coated.
Stir in toasted sesame seeds.
Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
For a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
Serve with steamed rice and your favorite vegetables for a complete meal.
Ensure chicken is cooked through before coating with sauce.
