Create spooky and delicious Halloween Eyeball Brownies. This recipe features rich, fudgy brownies topped with eerie edible eyeballs, perfect for Halloween parties and family fun.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Edible eyeball candy or candy melts for decoration
  • Red icing or food gel (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat. Let cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, combine melted butter and sugar. Stir well.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
  5. Stir in vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  6. In another bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  7. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  8. Spread batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  9. Bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  10. Cool brownies in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  11. Prepare edible eyeballs by melting candy melts or using pre-made candy.
  12. Once brownies are cool, cut into squares. Place an edible eyeball on each brownie square. Add red icing for a bloodshot effect if desired.

Notes

  • Use high-quality cocoa powder and butter for best flavor.
  • Cool brownies completely before cutting for neat squares.
  • Experiment with different edible eyeball decorations.
  • Serve with ice cream for an enhanced experience.
  • For a simpler decoration, use ready-made eyeball candy.
  • To make dairy-free, substitute butter with dairy-free margarine or coconut oil.
