  • 1 cup sugar
  • 6 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 3 cups whole milk, room temperature
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Lightly spray a 9½-inch pie pan with nonstick spray.
  3. Fit the unbaked pie crust into the prepared pie pan.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, eggs, ground nutmeg (¼ teaspoon), and vanilla extract for about 2 minutes.
  5. Add the whole milk and whisk for an additional 3 minutes until smooth.
  6. Carefully pour the custard mixture into the prepared pie shell.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining ⅛ teaspoon of ground nutmeg over the custard filling.
