  • 1/2 cup (1 stick / 113g) unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced or grated
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: pinch of cayenne or dash of hot sauce

Instructions

  1. Warm the butter in a small saucepan over low heat until fully melted.
  2. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant (do not brown).
  3. Add lemon juice, Dijon mustard, red pepper flakes, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Whisk until combined.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in parsley and chives. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  5. Pour into a small bowl or ramekin and serve warm as a dip, drizzle, or sauce.
