Delicious Copycat Old-Fashioned See’s Candy Fudge Recipe to Try

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (Can substitute with milk chocolate for a sweeter taste.)
  • 16 tablespoons Butter (Using unsalted butter gives better sodium control.)
  • 2 cups Walnuts or Pecans (Omit for nut-free or swap with seeds.)
  • 1 jar Marshmallow Creme (Homemade marshmallow fluff is a great substitute.)
  • 2 teaspoons Pure Vanilla Extract (Avoid imitation vanilla for best flavor.)
  • 4.5 cups Granulated Sugar (No direct substitutes for sugar.)
  • 12 oz Evaporated Milk (Sweetened condensed milk can be used for richer fudge.)
  • Flavored Extracts (Almond or peppermint extracts can enhance flavor.)
  • Dried Fruit or Crispy Rice Cereal (These can enhance the texture and flavor.)

Instructions

  1. Line a 9×13 inch baking dish with foil and lightly spritz with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mix together the semi-sweet chocolate chips, butter, walnuts or pecans, marshmallow creme, and pure vanilla extract.
  3. In a heavy-bottomed pot, combine the granulated sugar and evaporated milk. Bring it to a boil over high heat while stirring continuously.
  4. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-high and allow it to boil for exactly 9 minutes while stirring non-stop.
  5. Remove the pot from heat and pour the bubbling sugar mixture into your chocolate blend. Stir until melted and completely combined.
  6. Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish, smoothing the top with a spatula. Let it cool at room temperature until set.
  7. For best results, refrigerate the fudge overnight. Once done, lift the fudge out using the foil, and cut into 1-inch cubes.

Notes

  • Store fudge in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
  • Try adding different nuts or dried fruits for variety.
  • Use quality chocolate for the best flavor.
