Cinnamon Sugar Cruffins are a delightful hybrid between a croissant and a muffin, featuring flaky, buttery crescent roll dough rolled with cinnamon sugar, baked to golden perfection, and finished with a sweet cinnamon sugar coating.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 5 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tubes crescent roll sheets
  • 9 tablespoons salted butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and thoroughly spray a muffin pan with a non-stick baking spray that contains flour.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine 5 teaspoons of ground cinnamon with 1 ¼ cup of granulated sugar. Stir well and set aside.
  3. Unroll each of the 3 crescent roll tubes and gently roll them out to form approximately 14×10-inch rectangles. Spread 3 tablespoons of softened salted butter evenly over each dough sheet.
  4. Sprinkle about ¼ cup of the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over each buttered dough sheet.
  5. Tightly roll each dough sheet lengthwise and cut each rolled sheet in half.
  6. Slice each short log in half lengthwise, exposing the rolled layers inside. Roll each half starting from one end to create a pinwheel effect.
  7. Pinch the exposed end to secure it and place each shaped cruffin into the prepared muffin pan.
  8. Bake the cruffins for 20-25 minutes until the centers are fully cooked and the edges are deep golden brown.
  9. Remove the cruffins immediately from the pan while hot, then roll them in the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture to coat.
  10. Allow the cruffins to cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Store any leftover cruffins in an airtight container.
  • For extra flavor, add vanilla extract to the butter.
