A delicious and customizable savory breakfast casserole made with bread, crispy bacon, and creamy cheese, perfect for brunch or a special breakfast.

  • 300g Bacon
  • 6 large Eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups Milk
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • Black Pepper
  • 7 cups Bread, cubed
  • 2 cups Cheese, shredded
  • Parsley, optional

Instructions

  1. Cook diced bacon until crispy. Drain fat and set aside.
  2. Whisk eggs, milk, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  3. Gently fold in cubed bread, cooked bacon, and 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheese into the egg mixture. Let soak for at least 30 minutes, or overnight.
  4. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  5. Grease a springform cake pan. Fill with the soaked bread mixture, pressing down slightly.
  6. Scatter remaining bacon and cheese over the top. Cover loosely with foil.
  7. Bake covered for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Let cool for 5 minutes. Slice and serve warm.
