This Cajun Alfredo Sauce is a bold, creamy twist on the classic Alfredo. It blends rich Parmesan, smooth heavy cream, garlic, and zesty Cajun seasoning for a perfectly balanced sauce with heat and depth.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 34 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour (optional, for thickening)
  • 1½ cups heavy cream
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (if adding sautéed veggies or shrimp)
  • Chopped onions or bell peppers
  • Cooked chicken, shrimp, or tofu
  • Fresh parsley for garnish
  • Extra crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook 1 minute until fragrant.
  2. Whisk in the flour and cook 1–2 minutes to form a roux.
  3. Slowly whisk in heavy cream. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook 3–4 minutes, stirring often.
  4. Add Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust heat or salt as desired.
  5. Reduce heat and stir in grated Parmesan until smooth and creamy.
  6. Mix in sautéed onions, peppers, chicken, shrimp, or tofu if using.
  7. Toss with pasta, spoon over chicken or veggies, or use as a dipping sauce. Garnish with parsley.
