  • 1 loaf French bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, cut into small cubes
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, halved or sliced
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Powdered sugar
  • Fresh strawberries
  • Whipped cream
  • Maple syrup or berry syrup
  • Chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Add half the bread, then half the cream cheese and strawberries. Repeat layers.
  3. Whisk eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Evenly pour custard over bread. Press gently to soak.
  5. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour or overnight.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45–50 minutes until set and golden.
  7. Cool 10 minutes, dust with powdered sugar, and garnish as desired.
