- 1 loaf French bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, cut into small cubes
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, halved or sliced
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- Pinch of salt
- Powdered sugar
- Fresh strawberries
- Whipped cream
- Maple syrup or berry syrup
- Chopped nuts
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Add half the bread, then half the cream cheese and strawberries. Repeat layers.
- Whisk eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
- Evenly pour custard over bread. Press gently to soak.
- Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour or overnight.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45–50 minutes until set and golden.
- Cool 10 minutes, dust with powdered sugar, and garnish as desired.
